SCOTUS losing its marble(s)

One wonders what A3G of the now-defunct (and greatly missed) "Underneath Their Robes" would have made of the falling rocks this morning at One First Street.

As reported by the Associated Press, it was quite a stir for those standing in line to hear arguments on Monday's docket. LINK

Perhaps it's a sign that Roberts is shaking things up a bit as his era as Chief Justice gathers steam, or maybe it's just dumb luck.

In a related note, I crossed through another item on my tasklist over the Thanksgiving holiday: the retrieval of a treasured Justice Scalia bobblehead from the office of The Green Bag.
Having blitzed from Charlotte, NC to Arlington, VA in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday the 21st, I arrived in their office with road-weary eyes and a voice hoarse from crooningJohn Denver re-mixes on the solo trip North. My apologies to Kathy for being a little over-excited about collecting what many see as a mysteriously symbolic mold of plastic...but it does complete my set of four (Rehnquist, O'Connor, and Stevens being the previous releases). It makes for a very happy G. Spinach.
